One of the key lessons for any business is that, regardless of how effective your sales team is in the field, the quality of the back-office support team is equally important to closing deals. Terra is fortunate to have begun working with a leading Sales Administration Manager in the US, Linda McCormack. Based in upstate New York, Linda brings over 20 years of experience managing crucial sales administrative processes for clients in the manufacturing and technology sectors. We spoke with Linda about her background and how her skills and deep knowledge of sales enablement tools and processes will benefit Terra’s clients.
“Very early in my career, I worked for a local business in dairy manufacturing, initially brought on as an administrative assistant to the sales & executive teams. As the company and sales team grew, my role evolved into key account management with a secondary focus on sales & marketing process, systems, and strategy. This fueled a passion in me that is still burning today! As a result of their investment in my personal and professional growth, I am where I am today. They nurtured and developed my business acumen from the ground up, exposing me to every functional aspect of the organization. What a gift! After many years with that company, it was time to explore other opportunities. From there, I joined a leading technology company, gaining exposure to project management and sales operations. A stark contrast to the company I moved on from, they had a very mature and effective sales process that just needed some fresh eyes to optimize, which allowed me to further broaden my skill set. It was there that I had the pleasure of supporting and collaborating with Ben and his global sales team, where the magic happened! Now many years later, here we are, working together again! I could not be more thrilled to support Terra and our clients through their growth journey.”
We also discussed Linda’s current role at Terra and how she envisions supporting our clients.
“I joined Terra in early February with two main priorities. Firstly, to manage Terra’s administrative functions, which involves supporting the sales team, business systems, and CRM buildout. Initially on Monday.com, we recently transitioned to Pipedrive, where I collaborated closely with Jen (Terra’s business ops guru) on this migration, focusing on developing and scaling our sales process. Working together, we made it happen in a matter of weeks! The perception that you must allocate substantial time, resources, and budget to implement a CRM is false. I aim to demonstrate to our clients that implementing a sales process does not have to break the bank. With the right resources, you can implement a CRM in a matter of weeks. Yes, I said it again, weeks! Starting with a minimally viable solution, building out a realistic roadmap for enhancements, and scaling over time is the approach I always suggest when building out any new system or process. It doesn’t have to be complicated; it just needs to be efficient and effective for your business model.”
